In a culture where personal freedom is valued, we might expect individuals to feel emotionally free and fulfilled. But Robin Mubarik discovered when he moved to Lithuania that most young people he met were struggling with loneliness, trauma, and suicidal thoughts. Robin founded Gausus Gyvenimas (in English: “Abundant Life”) to strengthen ties with young adults in Lithuania to fight back against suicide and abuse.

Robin Mubarik had a background of nursing in Pakistan, but left to study theology in Lithuania, where he discovered a new vision for ministry. He welcomes volunteers, giving, and collaboration with those who are interested in moving the needle on mental health in Eastern Europe. This episode is Part 1 of a conversation with Robin. Tune in later this fall to hear the rest of the conversation, where Robin will share his research about mental health for ministry leaders, including cross-cultural and trauma-informed considerations.
